Road to Recovery
Epic Chiropractic & Sports Therapy has been providing quality chiropractic care in Sacramento since 1942. We are committed to providing the latest state-of-the-art advanced technology & techniques to offer a comprehensive range of services that reduce your pain, improve your function, & restore your quality of life.
01. Identify
Using a combination of orthopedic, neurologic, and functional movement assessment we will identify faulty movement patterns, neurological deficit, and joint / soft tissue dysfunction in order to recommend the appropriate treatment plan.
02. Restore
The goal of this phase is to reduce pain, inflammation, and restore full range of motion of the affected structures. Using a multi-faceted approach, we address these issues utilizing a combination of chiropractic care, soft tissue therapy, and physiotherapy modalities to speed the recovery of injured areas.
03. Retrain
The goal of this phase is to restore muscle strength, and retrain faulty movement patterns using corrective exercise.
Chiropractic Care
One of the most researched conservative techniques shown to be very effective at restoring proper motion in joints throughout the body. Healthy joint motion is imperative to maintaining quality movement throughout the entire body and reduce the stress and risk of injuries in the spine and extremities.
Active Release Techniques
Active Release Techniques (ART) is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system / movement based myofascial release technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART.
Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial cupping is a soft tissue modality that uses negative pressure to gently lift the skin and underlying connective tissue. When cups are applied to the skin, the tissue is drawn up into the cup. This decompression increases localized circulation, relaxes soft tissues, and is thought to stimulate healing.
Shockwave Therapy
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive procedure for the treatment of acute and chronic pain of the musculoskeletal system. Shock Wave Therapy is characterized by the use of acoustic pressure waves to target tissue at the point where the pain is originating from. They cause an improved local blood circulation and metabolism, have a direct influence on the form, and thereby on the function, of tissue.
Digital Radiography
Our radiology department has the ability to take single region images as well as full-spine digital x-rays. Scoliosis evaluations are streamlined and less exposure is achieved. Not everyone is a candidate for x-ray imaging. However, when necessary we use the technology from iCRco to come to a quick and accurate diagnosis that helps improve patient outcomes.

Whenever I had tightness or tenderness from the high intensity of Grid, treatment helped with my troubled areas and allowed me to perform at my highest level! It was great having Dr. Dan this season!Roy Gamboa (CrossFit Games / NPGL - LA Reign)
Transitioning from the CrossFit Games into Grid my upper back and shoulders were pretty tight and aggravated. After seeing all the success and improvements my teammates had from seeing Dan I knew I had to go see him myself. After my first session I was feeling so much better and had improved mobility and no irritation, and I couldn't wait to get to practice and hit my testers at 100%. Dan is a magician, I wish he didn't live on the other side of the country so I could see him more often!Eric Cardona (Crossfit Games - Team HussleHard / NPGL - San Francisco Fire)
Dan’s technique is very effective in keeping me performing at a high level, but he is also very knowledgeable about movement mechanics and how to further prevent reinjury.Ryan Rapenport (CrossFit Regionals / NPGL: Phoenix Rise)
Training and competing in GRID is extremely taxing on my body and little aches and pains have to be taken care of quickly so they don't lead to an injury. I am so thankful Dr. Dan was around all season to help my body stay in top shape and to help me recover faster. He helped me through a hip flexor issue that probably otherwise would have become a season ending injury and allowed me to continue to train and compete with my team, the L.A. Reign.Sheila Barden (CrossFit Games, NPGL: LA Reign)
Daniel was very helpful and knowledgeable when treating me during competition this year. Alessandra Pichelli (CrossFit Games)
Dr. Dan kept me from falling apart after the CrossFit Games this year. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have made it through the first Grid Match this season. Travis Williams (CrossFit Games / NPGL: Miami Surge)
This past season I was super fortunate to be able to work with Dr. Dan. My ability to recover between workouts improved greatly due to Dan's body work!Jessa Lamoine (CrossFit Games)
This sport is extremely hard on our body during the season. In order to stay fresh I visited Dan for body work, without him I would've been hurt or not ready for competition. Alyssa Ritchie (Team USA Weightlifting / NPGL)
