Linda W. Shanks, DC, FACO

Clinic Director

Dr. Shanks was born in Half Moon Bay and raised in Sacramento. She received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Psychology from California State University Sacramento. Her research thesis was in Sleep and Dreams, with her Master’s thesis in psychosomatic conditions of anxiety.  She received her doctorate degree in Chiropractic Studies from Cleveland Chiropractic College, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1979.  She attained postgraduate board certification from the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedics in 1985 and awarded a Fellowship from the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists in 1986. She completed advanced studies and board eligibility in Radiology from Palmer Chiropractic College.

Dr. Shanks, as a Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist, became involved in the licensing of new doctors, receiving a examiner commission from the Board of Chiropractic Examiners in 1985. She specialized in clinical competency, writing licensing examinations, and examining young doctors. She has been a licensing examiner on the state and national level for 25 years. She was the editor-in-chief for the National Board Review Series preparing students for examination.


She served as a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California for 20 years, evaluating spinal injuries for permanent disabilities.


She has served as a chiropractic expert for the State of California since 1985, protecting consumers and upholding the high standards of chiropractic care.


Dr. Shanks earned a certification from Texas A&M University in Collision Analysis in 1999, studying the biomechanics and injuries that occur in automobile accidents. She is a qualified court expert in chiropractic, testifying regarding whiplash injuries.


She has been in private practice in Sacramento since 1979, when she joined her practice with Fred Games, DC, one of the early chiropractic pioneers whose practice was established in 1942. She specializes in the treatment of chronic pain syndromes, whiplash syndromes, and back injuries.



Jesse Saenz, DC, CCSP

Jesse Saenz, D.C., CCSP is a Doctor of Chiropractic and is certified by the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians. Dr. Saenz is a Sacramento native and attended El Camino High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of San Francisco while playing collegiate rugby and received his Doctorate from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California. Dr. Saenz completed a postgraduate preceptorship with renowned Chiropractic Orthopedist Linda W. Shanks, D.C., F.A.C.O.


Dr. Saenz specializes in sports injury treatment and peak performance nutrition. His approach to injury treatment includes adjustments to spine and extremities, advanced soft tissue therapies, Active Release Technique (ART), deep tissue laser therapy, and corrective exercise. Dr. Saenz is a full-body Certified ART Provider and holds certifications in Graston Technique & Functional Movement.


He  was previously appointed Team Physician of Team USA Skydiving at the FAI World Parachuting Championships in Dubai and was selected to the USA Track & Field Sports Medicine Team for the National Championship.


Dr. Saenz has worked extensively in professional sport. He has worked in the English Premier League (EPL) as First Team Chiropractor & Sports Therapist at Hull City AFC and is former Head of Medical & Sports Science at Sacramento Republic FC. He was previously Director of Sports Medicine for the Sacramento Surge of the Major Arena Soccer League.

Daniel J. Saenz, DC

Staff Doctor

Daniel J. Saenz, DC is a Board Certified Doctor of Chiropractic licensed in the State of California. Dr. Saenz graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, California with a Doctorate of Chiropractic. During his postdoctoral studies, Dr. Saenz has spent extensive time training in Orthopedics and has completed advanced studies in the examination and treatment procedures emphasizing primarily the neuromusculoskeletal structures of the body. He is currently completing the American Board Certification in Orthopedics at the University of Bridgeport. In addition, Dr. Saenz has been participating in postgraduate training in the field of Functional Neurology at the Carrick Institute.


Dr. Saenz specializes in sports injuries, functional movement assessment, and advanced soft tissue therapies, and has achieved certifications in Active Release Technique (ART), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Graston Technique, and Rocktape Fascial Movement Taping.


Dr. Saenz has blended his background in Sports Medicine with advanced postdoctoral training to provide a comprehensive and unique approach to his patients’ care. The opportunity to diagnose and treat world class athletes including Olympic Gold medalists, professional soccer players, cyclists, skydivers, base jumpers, bodybuilders, crossfitters, and collegiate athletes has allowed Dr. Saenz to develop a unique systematic approach to injury recovery. In 2016, Dr. Saenz was appointed Head of Athlete Services to The National Pro Grid League, where he treats the top competitors from weightlifting, gymnastics, and functional fitness. Dr. Saenz was previously Team Chiropractor to the Sacramento Republic FC’s U.S. Soccer Development Academy. He was the Medical Director to the Sacramento Surge of the Major Arena Soccer League, and is contracted by Sacramento State Athletics.
